Young Evangelicals Cheer Obama--For Now
Can the new president keep them on his side?
Barack Obama enters the White House with extraordinary good will. When Zogby International measured his favorable rating on Jan. 8, he was at 60%. Since then, other well-respected and more recent polls found it as high 79%.
That means large numbers of people who did not vote for him now are positive about Obama. So those sky-high favorable marks can't just be credited to the intense unpopularity of George W. Bush, or the longing to turn the page.
