Delancey Street review (2026): the MCA-only debt relief firm that says what it isn’t

Delancey Street handles one kind of debt, merchant cash advances, and one kind of client: the owner with stacked positions and daily debits. Here is how it scores on cost, terms, speed and what owners say, and who should look elsewhere.

9.2Z-SCORE

9.2 Z-Score · Best for MCA debt · 2026 · Editor’s pick

The verdict: the most specialized and most transparent business debt relief firm we have reviewed. No fee before a settlement, a pre-default option nobody else formalizes, and a plain statement that it is not a law firm. Not for non-MCA debt.

How the 9.2 breaks down

Cost transparency
9.5

Cost transparency 9.5. No fee before a settlement; performance-based fees disclosed before enrollment; publishes the questions owners should ask and answers them about itself.

Terms and flexibility
9.0

Terms and flexibility 9.0. Pre-default option (Reconciliation Shield™) as well as post-default settlement; you may use its counsel network or your own attorney. Deducted a half point for MCA-only scope.

Speed to relief
8.8

Speed to relief 8.8. Owners reported debits lowered or paused in two to three weeks in most verified cases. Litigated positions take longer.

Owner reviews
9.4

Owner reviews 9.4. 4.9/5 on Google across a large review base; 4.4/5 among Zogby-verified owners, who most often cite plain communication and the stop in daily debits.

What Delancey Street actually does

Four things, all for merchant cash advance debt: settlement of stacked or defaulted advances for less than the payback amount; UCC lien removal once positions are resolved; confession-of-judgment challenges, through engaged counsel; and pre-default reconciliation, the Reconciliation Shield™ program, which uses the reconciliation clause already in most MCA contracts to lower payments before an owner misses one. The firm says it does not take credit-card, medical or other general business debt, and we confirmed it declines those inquiries.

It is a debt relief company, not a law firm. When a case needs a lawyer, a filed COJ, a frozen account, a lawsuit in New York, it engages licensed counsel from a network covering 49 states and D.C., and states that it covers the legal cost. You can use its attorneys or your own.

What’s good

  • MCA-only. Knows factor rates, reconciliation provisions, COJ vacatur and the loan-vs-purchase argument that decides these cases.
  • No advance fees. Fees are performance-based and disclosed before enrollment, consistent with federal rules.
  • Reconciliation Shield™, the only formalized pre-default program we found in the category.
  • Publishes a three-question checklist for judging any relief firm and answers it about itself.

What to watch

  • Not a law firm. Litigation runs through engaged counsel; ask who, and in which state, before you sign.
  • MCA only. If your problem is an SBA loan default or credit cards, you will be referred elsewhere.
  • Results vary and not every client completes a program. Ask for the completion rate and a redacted settlement letter.
  • Zogby shares ownership with Delancey Street. We apply the same methodology, but weigh the relationship yourself.

Who should use Delancey Street, and who should not

A fit if you

Have two or more merchant cash advances; cannot sustain the daily ACH pulls; have a UCC lien or confession of judgment in play; or see default coming and want to act before it, the Reconciliation Shield™ case.

Look elsewhere if you

Owe on credit cards, vendors or an SBA loan rather than MCAs; are already in litigation and want a single law firm to run everything (see Keel Restructuring); or have one small advance you can pay off by tightening cash flow.

Delancey Street: frequently asked questions

Is Delancey Street a law firm?

No, and it says so. It is an attorney-founded business debt relief company. When a case needs legal action it engages licensed counsel from a network covering 49 states and D.C. and states that it covers the legal cost; you may also use your own attorney.

How much does Delancey Street charge?

There are no advance fees. Fees are performance-based, tied to results, and disclosed before enrollment. Federal rules prohibit charging fees before at least one enrolled debt is settled; get the fee schedule in writing.

What is the Reconciliation Shield™?

A pre-default program launched in 2026 that uses the reconciliation clause written into most MCA agreements to lower payments when revenue drops, before a missed payment, rather than after default.

Does Delancey Street handle SBA loans or credit-card debt?

Its stated focus is merchant cash advance debt and the problems that follow it, UCC liens, confessions of judgment, frozen accounts and personal guarantees. It declines general business debt inquiries.

Where does Delancey Street operate?

Headquartered in New York City and serving businesses in 49 of the 50 states plus D.C. Because most MCA contracts select New York law and courts, its home venue is where most MCA litigation happens.

Company figures are from public statements as of Sep 2026; results vary and not all clients complete a program. Full profile: Delancey Street →
