The story of Chateau Souverain commences in 1944 when J. Leland “Lee” Stewart harvested his first crop of grapes from Howell Mountain vineyard in the Napa Valley AVA. In subsequent years, Stewart employed innovation, meticulous standards and his natural gift for winemaking to establish Souverain as one of the top California wineries. Right from the start, Chateau Souverain has had a presence in the greatest appellations of Northern California’s wine country. Their wines come from some of the world’s best growing areas and are a testament to the careful execution of their process. Chateau Souverain Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby-purple in the glass and boasts vivid aromas of roasted vanilla, mocha and baking spices with lovely layers of blackberry and also ripe cherry flavors. Balanced fruit, acidity and round tannins carry through to a juicy, lingering finish.
