Ask one question: what is the APR?
If the answer is “it’s a factor rate, not interest,” you have learned two things: the cost is high, and the funder would rather you not compute it. Use our calculator, then compare to the loan rankings. Funders that print an APR score higher on Zogby for a reason.
Common questions
What is a good factor rate?
Under 1.25 is the low end of the 2026 market; 1.30 to 1.40 is typical; above 1.40 is expensive. But the term decides the real cost: a 1.25 over three months costs more per year than a 1.35 over twelve.
Is an MCA a loan?
Legally it is a purchase of future receivables, which is why usury laws generally do not apply. Practically you repay a fixed amount on a fixed schedule, so price it like a very expensive short-term loan.
Can I pay an MCA off early to save money?
Usually not; the payback is fixed. Only funders with an explicit prepayment discount make early payoff worthwhile. We flag them in the ranking.
