Top Question Tuesday 11/17/09

November 17th, 2009

Welcome to this week’s edition of Top Question Tuesday. Last week’s winning question will ask people which Sesame Street Muppet is their favorite.  Once we have results from the question we’ll post them on our blog.

This week’s user-submitted survey questions are below. The questions are shortened to save space on our blog post, but these are the basic ideas. Take a look through and then vote for the question you’d most like to see on a Zogby Interactive survey. As a reminder, if you’d like to submit a question to be considered for a Top Question Tuesday Zogby survey, use the “Top Question Tuesday” box on the right of the page. And if you’d like to join Zogby’s interactive panel to answer questions similar to these, click here.

1. Will you be omitting any of your traditional Thanksgiving menu items (food and drink) from your Thanksgiving dinner this year because of cost?

2. Do you approve or disapprove of the inscription “In God We Trust” on U.S. coins?

3. Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree with the critics of President Obama who say his policies are leading the country toward socialism?

Interesting distribution of votes. My shoot from the hip impression is that your blog responders might be a Tad more conservative than the general population. Just wondering how one might tweak the statistical instrument to adjust for this many sitting on the right side of the boat. My guess is that more than 16 families have had to cut back on what they are serving, and or more than 16 have someone in the extended families who have had to cut back. I thought this might be a question retailers would be interested in, since the answers could have even included buying a floral arrangement [found in many grocery stores], or neighbors going together on a dinner, as we are, to avoid duplication. People in the Social Services or volunteer sectors, such a Manna Meal might have made this a priority. Far more respondents, it appears, want to externalize the cause of their discontent to the Obama administration. And I am still mystified by this kerfuffle over the placement of “In God We Trust” on the coinage.
