Approval for Obama Bounces Back

September 30th, 2009

A majority of likely voters again approve of President Barack Obama’s job performance. A Zogby Interactive poll conducted from Sept. 25-28 found 52% of likely voters approving, 47% disapproving and 1% undecided. That marks the first time since spring that Obama’s job approval has broken the 50% mark.

Why do you believe Obama’s performance has regained the support of voters who became disenchanted with him over the summer? Is it because he has become more involved in the healthcare debate; or do people perceive the economy may be improving? Could it also be that the attacks on him and his policies at Congressional townhall meetings may have backfired?

Note that Obama’s approval rating improved when it was announced that he was leaving the country.

Yes, I expect it will plumet when he returns. Still waiting for the temper tantrum that is sure to come when he realizes he can’t have his way and not everyone worships him.

It only proves that the average I.Q. of american voters is about 50.

Could it be that some pollsters, like most of the media, adore Obama because he is The Farthest Left One, and try to slant their polling questions to make him look more popular than he is?

His approval rating has improved because he showed some courage and is trying to fulfil his campaign promises. No drama Obama is not very likely to have a temper tantrum. You guys need to face reality: he’s a really good president and a really good man.

52% is not anything to brag about … what is the margin of error on the poll? hmmm Definitely says his agenda has not rallied the nation behind him. Afterall, he has not really been the non-partisan- reaching across the aisle cooperative President he said he’d be in his campgaign. No poll has asked for my opinion!

Huh? A Good President?….I guess accomplishing nothing makes you good? His complete inability to make anything happen with his majorities in congress proves how completely out of touch liberals are with mainstream America.

As for myself, I was so disgusted by “hate television” over the summer, I have become more patient with this administration.

The patience of the American people is waning: the democrats need to DO SOMETHING with their majorities or I really think the 2010 elections could repeat 1994’s Republican landslide. It’s unimaginable that the democrats with their majorities and supermajorities cannot do anything substantive except fingerpoint against current democrats, blame Bush and Cheney, and seek retribution against Bush and Cheney. We need jobs. I truly feel that Pelosi and Reid along with Obama are about as inept in simply getting something … anything … done that I’m one independent who’s had enough. Sadly for them, I’m not alone among independents. We’re all pretty much fed up and regretting our democratic votes in 2008. Obama needs a team in Congress other than Pelosi and Reid. They’re not helping him.

As an older American I find it difficult to believe our young people are really aware of what Obama is offering. We cannot expect to be competitive and creative when everything is handed to us. As a society we need to invest ourselves in achieving the goals of the United States which should be honesty (right now we have deception in all walks of life); we should be hard working and creative (the majority of people want instant gratification and would rather play than work – listen to the commercials) and above all a land of laws (we have laws but for the wrong reasons and those elected are a sorry group who completely break laws until caught and then apologize). Until our citizens can regain some integrity we will continue to decline as a leader in human rights, democratic rule and basic decency. Obama and our “leaders” must realize that you cannot legislate behavior; our “leaders” must realize that as citizens we should be allowed to make our own decisions regarding personal purchases. Our “leaders” must reign in the runaway legal abuse that is causing everything to go up in price.
